Project Description / Scope Remodel of an existing clinic for the nonprofit Family Health Centers of San Diego on Mollison Street, including new offices, exam rooms, a medical clinic, behavioral health, and physical therapy spaces. By helping Family Health update its interior design standards while working within its existing standards, we developed a refreshed space that provides quality healthcare for the underserved population.
Planning and Design Approach Key aspects of the design approach revolved around efficiency to maximize the use of space for workflow and patient care. This was accomplished by right-sizing the rooms to maximize the number of exam rooms surrounding a central nurse station and core.
Innovation Points Additional effort went into streamlining construction through a thorough upfront investigation phase to plan the project so construction could proceed smoothly without unforeseen disruptions.
Additional Information Project received additional state grant funding to help with the cost of the project.
